Home Staging Statistics

The Real Estate Staging Association released Home Staging Statistics and the results from their February 2009 study that confirms that from 2007 and 2008 is Home Staging still working in a down market.

This proves that professionally staged occupied homes sold 46% faster in 2007, and 89% faster in 2008. Staged vacant homes previously on the market sold 68% faster in 2007 and 85% in 2008.

"Home Staging" WORKS!

The investment cost of staging is significantly less then a homes first price reduction!!

Home Staging Statistics tell us that 79% of homeowners, who have their home staged, sell it for an average of 3-10% more then comparable homes that are not staged. The investment of time, effort and few extra dollars will get your home to stand out from the competition, secure the equity in your home and sell it at a higher price in less time than without staging.

Picture Perfect!

HOME STAGING is also impacting ON-LINE HOME BUYERS TOO!

With more people becoming internet savvy, 94% of buyers aged 25-44 are using the internet to search for homes. Homes today are being eliminated from the “must see” list based on photographs from the internet. Professional staging is key to the quality of those photos.

In conclusion, Staging is no longer a “nice to have” it is mandatory to maximize equity and makes good business sense for Realtors, homeowners and prospective buyers.

Over 90% of buyers will see a home in pictures on the MLS before determining if they want to view your home in person, having photos of your home staged on the MLS will attract more buyers, more offers and eliminate buyers chipping away at the “asking price”.

Home Staging Statistics Provide Overwhelming Evidence:

  • A staged home will sell, on average, 17% higher than an unstaged home. (US Housing and Urban Development)
  • Sellers who spent $500 on staging recovered over 343% of the cost when they sold their home. (Homegain.com)
  • In controlled tests selling identical homes professionally staged vs. those not staged, the unstaged houses sold in 102 days, the staged houses sold in 45 days! (RealEstateStagingAssociation.com)
  • It is estimated that only 10% of home buyers can visualize the potential of a home.
